WoW Leatherworking Gold Guide
Below is an overview video and detailed walk-through on how to easily make gold with Leatherworking. As shown in the video, after four days I had net sales of 9,190g with a total profit of 4,319g! As of patch 3.3.3 some changes have been made to the Leatherworking profession as well as the demand for some items. I still make a decent amount of profit from the Epic leg enchants and Epic armor pieces but most rare pieces have lost a lot of demand. Before sinking a lot of money into any profession, test some things out first.

- WoW Leatherworking Gold Guide Overview - Purchase Leatherworking patterns and sell various items. Estimated daily time spent: 30minutes.
WoW Leatherworking Gold Guide: Purchase Popular Patterns
- First, you can start by purchasing all of the Leatherworking patterns from Braeg Stoutbeard in Dalaran. You will need a total of 114 x [Heavy Borean Leather] and 20 x [Arctic Fur] to purchase them all. If you don't have the gold to purchase them all, that's ok. Once you get enough gold you can purchase them over time.
- I have listed the best selling patterns below and suggest getting these first.
[Pattern: Trollwoven Girdle]
[Pattern: Trollwoven Spaulders]
[Pattern: Eviscerator's Bindings]
[Pattern: Eviscerator's Chestguard]
[Pattern: Eviscerator's Facemask]
[Pattern: Eviscerator's Gauntlets]
[Pattern: Eviscerator's Legguards]
[Pattern: Eviscerator's Shoulderpads]
[Pattern: Eviscerator's Treads]
[Pattern: Eviscerator's Waistguard]
WoW Leatherworking Gold Guide: Crafting Popular Items
- Once you have purchased the patterns above, I suggest making the items listed below. You can also add to this as much as you like and see what works well for you. During my testing, I found these to be the best sellers but your server may be different, so adjust if need be. ( Tip: Anything that requires [Heavy Borean Leather], try checking the price of [Borean Leather] and seeing if it's cheaper to make the [Heavy Borean Leather] yourself.
[Frosthide Leg Armor] ( Tip: Have a decent stock of these for Tuesdays.)
[Icescale Leg Armor] ( Tip: Have a decent stock of these for Tuesdays.)
[Earthen Leg Armor] ( Tip: Have a decent stock of these for Tuesdays.)
[Trollwoven Girdle]
[Trollwoven Spaulders]
[Eviscerator's Bindings]
[Eviscerator's Chestguard]
[Eviscerator's Facemask]
[Eviscerator's Gauntlets]
[Eviscerator's Legguards]
[Eviscerator's Shoulderpads]
[Eviscerator's Treads]
[Eviscerator's Waistguard] - I have found that selling complete sets of all three sets, [Eviscerator's Battlegear], [Stormhide Battlegear], and [Overcast Battlegear] in trade really works out well when you are bored or between raids and BGs.
WoW Leatherworking Gold Guide: Auctioning Items & Sales Recap
-
I still suggest listing the sets on the Auction House as well along with the different epic leg armors. Here is a break down of the best selling items I sold over four days and what I paid for their mats.
[Frosthide Leg Armor] x 13 sold for around 235g each (106g - profit).
Mats:
[Arctic Fur] x 2 = 100g
[Nerubian Chitin] x 2 = 4g
[Frozen Orb] x 1 = 25g[Icescale Leg Armor] x 11 sold for around 230g each (103g - profit).
Mats:
[Arctic Fur] x 2 = 100g
[Icy Dragonscale] x 2 = 2g
[Frozen Orb] x 1 = 25g[Earthen Leg Armor] x 7 sold for around 265g each (104g - profit).
Mats:
[Arctic Fur] x 2 = 100g
[Eternal Earth] x 4 = 36g
[Frozen Orb] x 1 = 25g - For Leatherworking items, I recommend listing them for 24 hours. Depending on how popular your server is, you may or may not have a lot of competition. If you see you are being undercut a lot and want to undercut back, change your listings to 12 hours to save some deposit gold. I suggest undercutting no more than 1g.
WoW Leatherworking Gold Guide: Final Suggestions and Tips
- Once you get the hang of how much you sell begin purchasing mats during the weekend; they are typically the cheapest on the weekend.
The main reason for this is most players aren't actually raiding on the weekends and have a lot more time to gather mats. With the abundance of mats comes the simple economic rule of supply exceeding demand, which leads to lower prices. This doesn't mean 100% of the time they will be cheaper on the weekend, but instead it makes it more likely. After you get a feel for mat prices you can purchase them throughout the week for the lowest prices.
- Checking on mats everyday will get you familar with who sells what.
Pay attention and take a look at who is selling mats all the time and message them to sell directly to you at a discount. This will save you big on the craft costs. I have countless farmers listed on my friends list who I deal with regularly to get the cheapest price possible.
- Finally, World of Warcraft isn't just about making gold and really should be the smallest part of your playtime.
I hope this guide will help you get rich in World of Warcraft but at the same time free up farm time so you can actually enjoy the game for what it is meant to be; fun! So, don't sit at your computer 24-7 just to make gold. Go out, raid, PvP, whatever, just make sure to have fun (^_^)v.
Good luck and I hope you enjoyed this guide. If you have any suggestions, comments, or feedback, please make a post on our forums.
