In Cataclysm Beta news, a lot of new changes are starting to roll out but, first here are some new screenshots released over the last week. I'm particularly excited about the new instance boss screenshots and can't wait to get a chance to take em' out when I get the chance to do Halls of Origination. The instance definately is reminscent of AQ and I'm loving how much of classic they are bringing into the design and gameplay.

  • Checking out the new talent tree panel shows a new sleak look and the addition of specializations. Each specialization awards passive talents like for instance Boomkin Druids are given Dreamstate, Vengeance, and Nature's Focus. Once a specialization is selected you must spend atleast 31 points before unlocking a different tree and spending points in it. The new talent trees are much simpler and I really like the setup.

  • The spell book has also been revamped and is a bit easier to understand and see what spell you can get in the future. They've also added a new pane for arena and rated battlegrounds that is very visually appealing.
  • I also found a new Achievement section that is dedicated to guilds and some innovative designer decided to add a pretty funny place holder Achievement called "We are Legendary" that requires killing Garr 9650 times. I wonder if that's a reference to OVER 9000!
  • Not too many other Achievements have been added except Cataclysm quests that appear to only be placeholders and Cataclysm exploration Achievements. Oh and don't freak out because most of my Achievements are missing and I only have 1400 points. Achievements are still not fully functional in the beta and will likely be fully added back in, in a later build.
  • Some other neat changes are the addition of multiple mini-map tracking and easily understandable icons. Now when you want to track something, it will display the icon on the mini-map. You can also select multiple things to track. This does make me wonder if it will finally be possible to easily track say Herb and Mining nodes by tracking them at the same time.
  • Moving along to some specific questions from viewers. A lot of people had been asking what quest reward item stats looked like and the item's model so here are some examples of dropped greens, blues, and quest items. Another question a few of you asked was how much exp you needed to level. From 81-82 it currently takes 1.7 million. Lastly, some were wondering what food and water would cost and it looks like 1.8 gold for food and 1.23g gold for water. Look at how much health you get from the level 80 food, 64,903 and for mana 45,000.
  • Keep in mind tons of details and numbers are still being ironed out and anything can change before the final Cataclysm expac ships.

Tarou's Weekly WoW Report Episode 15! 8/01/2010 | Blizzard News / Q & A Session

  • Alright, checking out Blizzard news, Starcraft II had a very successful release world wide and I know a lot of my friends are feining it right now. I've put a special press release video at the end of my video if you want to see just how crazy of an international launch it was.
  • Finally I'd like to end this Tarou Weekly WoW Report answering a few questions you guys and girls have asked me over the last week.
  • Q1. Do you have or can you make a guide on 'X'?

A1. I have guides on leveling professions, leveling tips, addon guides, Auction House guides, gold making guides, raiding guides, you name it and I likely have it. Check my completely free website at tarouwowguides.com and you should find everything you're looking for.

  • Q2. What is your DPS like as a Boomkin?

A2. It varies depending on the encounter but, to give you a general idea here are some examples. Retardedly crazy AoE can net 46,500 DPS, Blood Queen can be more than 19,200 DPS, Deathwhisper might be 14,700 DPS, and 12,700 DPS on Saurfang. Yes, Boomkin are hacks.

  • Q3. Is it better to list items on an alt or your 80 main?

A3. That's really up to you and your situation. I like to list on an alt when I'm leveling so I don't have to go to a major town but, otherwise I like to list everything on the character I spend the most time on. It tends to get a bit overwhelming bag space wise but, it helps me see how well and when items are selling, when I need to restock, and saves me from switching back and forth. Most people use alts though to keep things better origanized and some like alts so they can hide from other players. Everyone's got their own style.
