In Cataclysm news, a lot of new information was released, a new beta build is out, World of Warcraft's twitter was lit up with tons of questions from gamers, and some new screenshots of the new zones and instances and they are looking sick as usual. Screenshots really don't do the expansion any justice so I will be putting together some new HD leveling commentary videos for everyone to enjoy hopefully some time this week.

  • Checking out Cataclysm news, some new screenshots for the week were released of some of the new Cataclysm redesigned zones and instances which just keep amazing me.

  • I briefly talked about the new mastery system and talents and Blizzard released some nice screenshots of the new talent panel. This first one shows how now you will choose a specialization after unlocking your talent panel at level 10. Active core abilities get immediately unlocked now and aren't super deep in the trees. This next screenshot is of the Talent tree panel which looks more like classic and as you can see other trees are locked. They stay locked until you spend 31 points in your specialization tree. The designers have made everything a lot simpler for new players to pick up fast and old players who take a break not to get overwhelmed. All and all the new system is pretty awesome in my opinion and way better than the current one. You can read more about it on the World of Warcraft Under Development page.

  • Also in Cataclysm news, tons of questions were answered on twitter this past week about all sorts of things coming out in Cataclysm. Some of the highlights that intrigued me were the idea of account-wide Achievements, which I would love since I have so many characters, healers using damage to regen mana, which is awesome, and what size shoes Ghostcrawler wears, how that's relevant I have no idea. You can read more about it on the World of Warcraft forums.

Tarou's Weekly WoW Report Episode 13! 7/18/2010 | Blizzard News / Q & A Session

  • In Blizzard news, Starcraft II is getting ready to release and if you plan on buying the digital copy you can download the client early to avoid wasting any time. This likely means Cataclysm will be the same way which I'm super happy about since I live in Japan. It'll be nice to play live Cata a lot sooner than I expected.
  • In other Blizzard news, the Battlenet site has been redesigned and is looking pretty cool. It's still in beta while they get feedback from players but, I thought the current Battlenet is fine as it is. You can check it out on the Battle.net Beta Site.
  • Finally I'd like to end this Tarou Weekly WoW Report answering a few questions you guys and girls have asked me over the last week.
  • Q1. Have you ever been banned before?

A1. A1. Actually funny story, I was just banned this week. I was accused of "Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy" which they translated to selling in-game gold for IRL money. What really happened was I traded my second account 90,000 gold and it triggered an automated ban to protect the account or punish the abuser. At the time I only knew it had to do with that trade and was like how the heck do you ban someone for trading their second account gold which has a similar character name and the same name on the account right? I was thinking talk about a lazy GM who can't even do some basic research but I was wrong and that wasn't the case. They appologized and removed the record from my account as well as credited the three days but that still doesn't sit well with me. I'm waiting on some special in-game GM treatment.

  • Q2. What do you spend all you gold on?

A2. Alts mainly but hmmm, not really sure if I spend much gold on anything besides repairs, flasks, and buff food. I also sometimes give away gold or items in the form of a contest on my servers and use it to make guides for all of you which... just makes me more anyway.

  • Q3. What guild is your Druid in and can I join?

A3. I'm in Impervious and ginvites are not something I deal with. I'm a boss out of game so, I don't want that stress in game. Here's the guild website where you can apply. http://impervious-mg.wowstead.com
