Tarou's Weekly WoW Report Episode 12! 7/11/2010 | Auction House & Cataclysm News

In Auction House news, material prices continue to fluctuate upward due to the new Ruby Sanctum raid being introduced a few weeks back, mass hacking bans, and guilds now having an easier time with Heroic Icecrown Citadel. More people are raiding and buying items because of it. I'd love to hear how your server is in the comment section below. Oh and don't worry, this doesn't mean you can't make any gold with professions, it just means the prices will be different and gatherers should make more gold.

  • Nothing special in PvP or PvE news for current game content so moving right to Cataclysm news. As with every week, here are some new screenshots and I'm especially liking how beautiful this dam's scenery looks. I mean simply look at the detail of the water, trees, and concrete. Imagine questing in this are and how much more pleasant it will be. And this is just a glimse of what the final game looks like.
  • Checking out Cataclysm news, some new screenshots for the week were released of some of the new Cataclysm redesigned zones and instances which just keep amazing me.

A lot of talk was floating around this week about talent trees among other things and Blizzard really seems to be going on out trying to cover everything possible for every type of player new or veteran. The trees already look amazing and their still working on some things to polish them up. One of the best things I heard was they are easy to understand just like they were in Classic WoW. Hopefully this can help some new players get over the frustation of not knowing which talents to pick.

  • Blizzard also announced a mastery systems update that details where the mastery system ended up and how it changed from the 2009 Blizzcon ideas. The full story covers the game design's visions, changes, and how everything will work in Cataclysm. You can read more about it the WoW Forums.

  • We also got a preview of the new Twilight Highlands area and how the Twilight Hammer people play a roll. The Twilight Highlands area and background story are truly amazing and is definately a place filled with some rich history. You can read more here on the Twilight Highlands area page.
  • Also in Cataclysm news, Blizzard has announced they want to release the complete game in the next beta patch. Currently not everything is available and the level cap is at 82. Basically they are telling us the game is pretty much done and ready to be fully tested which is awesome. While they haven't given us a date or anything, they say we're talking days or weeks and not months. You can read more about it on the WoW forums.

Tarou's Weekly WoW Report Episode 12! 7/11/2010 | Blizzard News / Q & A Session

  • In Blizzard news, none other than the CEO & Cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment, announced due to all the negative feedback and outcry from players opposed to showing their real name on forums, Blizzard has decided to not force players to display their real name on the forums. I think they had a good idea to get rid of all the trolling and flaming but, their approach caused the people who legitly use the forums to have to suffer. Instead, I suggest making a forum ID name that is associated with a real account. If you flame or troll, you do it on the same forum ID name and can't keep making level ones over and over again hiding. At the same time you remain anoymous. Both things can be accomplished this way. I guess we'll wait and see what happens and how everything turns out. Read more about on the WoW Forums.
  • Finally I'd like to end this Tarou Weekly WoW Report answering a few questions you guys and girls have asked me over the last week.
  • Q1. When are you coming out with Cataclysm videos?

A1. This week you should see my first release.

  • Q2. I don't have 10k gold to invest in making gold with 'X' profession. What should I do?

A2. Never have I said you need 10k gold to make money with a profession. So what you don't have 10k gold. How much do you have? 0g? Ok, try making gold by farming first. You only have 300g? No problem. Start small and build your way up. This is a video game it's not like I was born rich into it. I wasn't lazy and busted my ass while I built up and up and up to the fortune I have today. Don't give up before you even try. And hey, if you can't be rich, don't worry, this is just a video game and it's only pixels. Focus on meaningful things like having fun.

  • Q3. Why don't you ever combine professions in your videos like Herbalism and Mining?

A3. I mention them but I won't mix them completely because I don't want to give anyone artificial profit numbers. I'm not here to showoff. I'm here to help all players have more fun in WoW. I want to show you what's realistic for the bare minimum and give you the ideas to make it better. I purposely nerf myself in videos to show what's realistic because, every server, player, and situation is different and I'm here to show you many ways that can work for everyone and not just some small specific group of players.

  • "Now go ... tell me what you think of anything featured in this week's Tarou's Weekly WoW Report on my YouTube Channel or below in the comment section.

Personally, I'm glad they scrapped the real names on forums idea. Talk about dumb. Although, I did figure out how to get around it and I'm sure others would've as well.
