Tarou's Weekly WoW Report Episode 11! 7/04/2010 | Auction House & PvE News

In Auction House news and I guess you could call this cheating news as well, Blizzard released Warden 2.0 inside Patch 3.3.5. Warden is basically Blizzard's tool to combat hacking, cheating, and botting. Mass bans are likely going out. Combine that with the new raid content and you can see the effect it's having on the farmed and gathered materials market. Prices are up 150% or more on most commonly farmed and gathered materials across most servers. If your server hasn't felt the effect, it will over the next month as Blizzard mass bans tons of non-legit accounts.

• Moving on to PvE news, Ruby Sanctum was released this past week and the fight is a pretty interesting mix of Obisdian Sanctum, Algalon, and some other raids. US's Premonition of Sen'jin went ahead and not only downed Halion in 10m and 25m but in Heroic nonetheless. You can watch their videos below. • Checking out Cataclysm news, some new screenshots for the week were released of some of the new Cataclysm redesigned zones and instances which just keep amazing me.

• Blizzard also announced on June 30th the beginning of the Cataclysm closed beta and the NDA is finally lifted allowing me to talk about anything in the beta. Make sure your Beta Profile Settings are up-to-date on your Battle.net account and you've opted in. If you haven't been invited to the beta yet, don't worry they will be inviting people constantly until just before the actual release. To be weary though of scam emails and never follow any links in an email. If you think you've been invited to the beta, check your Battle.net account to see if it shows the Cataclysm beta. If it doesn't, you haven't been invited.
• So, I'm sure a lot of you are dying to know what it's like and I can tell you... it's amazing. I'm really happy with the gameplay and questing so far. The new features and mechanics are really clean. For anyone thinking this expansion will suck, I think you'll be happily surprised it's quite the opposite. They've really thought a lot about all the problems with Wrath of the Lich King and seem to be fixing most of them in Cataclysm. Do remember though we are still in beta and a lot of things can change before the final game ships. Heck, Path of the Titans was nixed so nothing is off limits.
• I will be ofcourse posting a lot of new Cataclysm content over the next few weeks but, you can also seem a different flavor of information from the good people at MMO Champion. They have several, several screenshots of all the new changes from the old world, the new PvP battlegrounds, raid instances, and npc models. They've also added talent calculators for all classes, new item lists, and some really good blue posts answering a lot of Cataclysm gameplay and class changes questions.

• Finally I'd like to end this Tarou Weekly WoW Report answering a few questions you guys and girls have asked me over the last week.
• Q1. Did you switch to Alliance?

  A1. Yes and no. I moved my Druid over to Alliance with my Mage and left my Warlock, Warrior, and Deathknight as Horde. Don't worry both factions will get a pretty even presence in videos.

• Q2. What do you think about Cataclysm?

  A2. I honestly think it's amazing. The Blizzard design and systems team really put a lot of thought and effort into everything. The quests are more interesting and fun, the scenary is amazing, it's great to be somewhat back in the classic zones, and the new guild features really make it worth it to work as a team.

• Q3. Do you plan on talking and showing more about Cataclysm and making some videos about it?

  A3. Yes, definately. I should start rolling out some new leveling videos for Cataclysm along with some thoughts about the beta testing, new Cataclysm features, talents, quests, and a lot more.
