Icecrown Citadel - Valithria Dreamwalker Strategy Guide: Overview and Setup

• Valithria Dreamwalker is the first boss of the Frostwing Halls in Icecrown Citadel.
• The fight is yet another unique release of Icecrown Citadel. Valithria Dreamwalker starts off with 50% hp and instead of killing her, you instead will fend off the progressively faster spawning adds and heal Valithria Dreamwalker to 100% to defeat the encounter. Yes healers, you finally get a special encounter for yourselves and hopefully you find it a bit fun.
• The set-up for this fight is fairly simple. You'll need 1-2 tanks, 2-3 healers, and the rest dps. Atleast 1 healer should be assigned to only healing Valithria and if possible, have a holy Paladin take this job. The other 1-2 healers should be assigned to the raid. If you choose to have 3 healers and have a good enough raid healer, 2 healers can enter the dream portal and heal Valithria Dreamwalker. Keeping the raid alive is priority though so see what works best for your raid. If you have a mage, have them buff Valithria with Amplify Magic for a bit of extra healing.

Icecrown Citadel - Valithria Dreamwalker Strategy Guide: Encounter

• There are 5 different types of adds and priority should be given to the most threating which are the Blazing Skeletons. All dps should attack and take them out quickly. Zombies should be kited by a range dps. Archmages and Suppressors can be handled by melee and Abominations should be tanked by your tank and killed by range. A few seconds after the Abomination dies worms will spawn. Have a tank gather them and range kill them. As the fight continues, adds will spawn progressively faster.
• The second focus of the fight is healing Valithria up to full. To accomplish this in a timely manner, your Valithria healer or healers need to grab the Emerald Vigor inside the dream portal. Throughout the fight green dream portals will spawn. The healers can enter the dream portals for 20 seconds, float around through green orbs to get the buff which stacks, and then be automatically booted. It sounds easy enough but takes a bit of practice since the time-frame to keep the stacks up is so short and sometimes the orbs don't react even when you thought you touched them. I've found it easiest to move up and down through the orbs. You also have to keep the stacks going and the best way to keep up stacks is get as many as you can and wait to grab your last orb just before being booted out to the raid. If you grab the last orb too early you likely won't have enough time to restart the stacks' timer. From there, it's just spamming the boss as much as possible and stand near a new portal's spawn point. Once the new portal spawns, enter it and immediately grab the closest orb. Once the healer has around 20 stacks, pop Bloodlust or Heroism and heal the boss as much as possible. Also, make sure all Supressors are dead before the healer exits the dream portal. If the boss isn't at full or really close, even if Bloodlust or Heroism is still up, the healer should enter the dream portal and continue the stacks.
