Icecrown Citadel 10m: Heroic Festergut - Overview

The Heroic mode for Festergut is fairly simple and really only requires decent reaction time and awareness of your surroundings. In this guide I will only cover what is important to Heroic mode and anything else you should honestly know. Depending on the class, gear, and players' abilities you'll want 2 healers, 2 tanks, and the rest dps. As for the positioning, have the range, including all healers, stand in the south of the room along the circle. Put healers in the center diagonally between the range so they can reach everyone and aren't too close to Festergut.

• The biggest differences between normal and heroic are Festergut has increased health, hits harder, spores become more necessary, and perhaps the biggest difference is Professor Putricide throw Malleable Goo from the balcony.
• This fight really revolves around how fast your raiders can react to different things during the fight. The most important are getting spores and avoiding Malleable Goo. To help with this, split the spores as you would in regular with one going to melee and the other to range. If two go on melee, pre-pick which mark will go to range. Also, assign one person in range, who is easily visible, to be your stacking target. If healing is a worry, make this person a healer. Mages can Iceblock and Shadow Priests can use Dispersion to avoid being killed by Festergut's Pungent Blight as well. Really spores shouldn't be any problem for a Heroic mode raid group anyhow.
• The other important part of Heroic mode is Malleable Goo. Throughtout the fight Professor Putricide will chuck Malleable Goo on a random raid member. Range and Healers especially need to avoid this completely to make sure they can properly DPS to beat the enrage timer and keep the raid and tanks up. The target will have a circle of green ooze at their feet indicating they're the target. They then want to move around 10 yards or so away from it. Sometimes Malleable Goo will be thrown on the spore stacking target or melee. If this happens, call out on vent to move 10 yards either left or right as a whole group. We had a melee calling out on vent left foot, right foot and it worked out great for melee's group.
• Tank and healer cooldowns also become much more important in Heroic mode and should be used wisely and communicated as much as possible.
• Just before Festergut casts his first Pungent Blight or after the 3rd sport is out, pop Bloodlust or Heroism to compensate for all the extra damage the tanks will receive.
• From there, if your raid has enough DPS, nuke Festergut down and ignore all spores.
• After your raid gets down avoiding Malleable Goo and tanks and healers get their cooldowns nicely timed, your raid should have no problem taking out Festergut in Heroic mode.
