Icecrown Citadel 10m: Heroic Deathbringer Saurfang - Overview

The Heroic mode for Deathbringer Saurfang can pose a bit of a challenge for some guilds but with proper execution is easily doable. In this guide I will only cover what is important to Heroic mode and anything else you should honestly know. Depending on the class, gear, and players' abilities you'll want 2 healers, 2 tanks, and the rest dps. As for the positioning, have healers stand in the center so they can reach everyone and range at max distance on one or both sides. As a small tip, Mages can also be a little helpful moreso than being just a vending machine, just kidding, by buffing the raid with Amplify Magic.

• The biggest differences between normal and heroic are Saurfang has an increased health pool, a shortened enrage timer, his blood power is gained much faster, adds reduce raid movement speed, and adds can one/two-shot you.
• This fight is all about controlling, slowing, and nuking adds. Five seconds after they spawn they will cast Scent of Blood reducing the raid's movement speed by 80% essentially preventing any sort of kiting strategy. Make sure your range have some abilities to help with this. All kinds of things can work. Have a hunter drop a trap a few seconds before the adds spawn, DKs can Chains of Ice, Druids can Typhoon, Paladins can Hammer of Justice, Shamans can Thunderstorm and drop an Earthbind Totem, Warlocks can Shadowfury, and Warriors can Piercing Howl. Of course there are other useful abilites but those are the commonly used ones.
• Once you get the hang of the adds taken care of the rest is as simple as relying on healers keeping the tanks, raid, and the Mark of the Fallen Champion target up. Dying to a mark in Heroic heals Saurfang for 20% so help out healers by doing whatever you can to reduce the damage. Mages can Iceblock and Paladins can BoP the target but this will only reduce the damage and not actually remove the debuff as I'm sure you've found out in normal mode.
• At the 30% Frenzy, pop Blood Lust or Heroism and nuke Saurfang down.
