How to Use the Guild Finder & Recruiter Guide - Find a Guild or Raider!

I've been getting a lot of messages lately asking how to find a good guild for leveling or raiding and while you can do some oldschool research, it's also good to try out the new 'Guild Finder' system that is now built ingame.

• First, click the guild tabard on your UI or press 'J' on your keyboard and it'll bring up the Guild Finder screen. Then tell it what kind of guild your searching for. I'm gonna go with Questing, Dungeons, Raids, and PvP. I'm not interested in Role Playing but if you were, check that too. My availability is only during the weekdays and I'm interested only in damage.
• Next, leave a comment about anything you're looking for or something about yourself as a player like a schedule, your DPS, iLvl, that your laidback, helpful or whatever.
• Finally, click browse guilds and search for a guild that looks interesting to you. For me, I want guild rewards and easy leveling for my alts so I'm going to be looking for a level 25 guild who invites just about anyone. Quickly I find one called 'Power Rangers' which is a great lame name that definitely sounds laid back and has all the perks I'm looking for while leveling and beyond. It also has huge numbers which means I won't have a problem getting a group for anything or help if I need it. No other guilds look interesting so I'll go ahead and request membership with Power Rangers.
• Now I could wait for someone to check the request log and invite me but I'm impatient so I'll message an 85 and ask directly for an invite. Two seconds later I'm invited and now have a great guild to level up with and get rewards through. It's also nice to repay the favor to the guild and help out as much as possible. You don't want to be a leech.
• Ok, now what about the flip side. What if you're looking for players to recruit. No problem, simply open up the same window by pressing 'J' on your keyboard and go to the info tab. Then, click the Recruitment tab on the top. You'll be filling out most of the same information since this is how people search for you. Check the Guild Interests for your guild, what availability you're looking for, what class roles you need, whether you only want max levels or if any level will do, and finally a short comment telling about your guild. In the comment section you can specify your raid times, PvP times, raid sizes, current downed content, or whatever you think is relevant.
• Finally, after getting all that info up, you should start to see requests or get whispers from prospective players.
• This an easy system to use and very helpful for new or veteran players. I will say though it may be unlikely to find a top guild recruiting on your server since they require applications on their website most of the time. But, for the not-so-serious, it's a great tool.
